Valentina M. Scirica Esq.

Valentina M. Scirica is an associate in the Employment and Governmental Representation practice groups at Trenk Isabel Siddiqi & Shahdanian P.C..  Her employment law practice focuses on defending employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to traditional business startups on claims including wrongful discharge, discrimination and retaliation and breach of employment contracts. She is part of a dedicated team that regularly advises employers on compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, and conducts internal investigations.

Valentina’s governmental law practices focuses on providing legal counsel in all aspects of the increasing number of legal issues facing local public entities, including assistance with public meetings; preparing resolutions, ordinances and contracts, procurements; labor negotiations and arbitrations; and handling tax appeals.

​

In Valentina’s prior role as an associate, she counseled clients throughout various stages of litigation and participated in mediation sessions, arbitrations, and depositions. Her matters involved the application of laws such as the Workers’ Compensation Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Conscientious Employee Protection Act (CEPA), and New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD).

Valentina is admitted to the New Jersey and New Jersey District Court bars. She is certified as a Mediator and is a member of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court, UNICO National – Cedar Grove Chapter, and the Bergen County Bar Association.

Valentina received her J.D. from Pace University, Elisabeth Haub School of Law and her B.A. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. As a law student, Valentina served as a legal intern in the Family Court Legal Program in White Plains, NY, providing legal assistance to victims of domestic violence; as a law clerk for the Honorable Lisa A. Firko, Bergen County Courthouse, Family Division, in Hackensack; and as a legal intern with The Baldonado Group, P.C.

Upon graduating from law school, Valentina served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Philip J. Maenza, Morris County Courthouse, Special Civil Part, Morristown, NJ where she gained experience in landlord-tenant, small claims and district court matters.
