Phil’s practice focuses on the areas of labor and employment law, government representation, and commercial litigation. He works on a team providing counsel to employers, municipalities, and corporate entities on a wide range of disputes.

Phil also provides pro bono assistance to police and firefighter members and retirees who qualify for relief under the Bill Ricci World Trade Center Rescue, Recovery, and Cleanup Operations Act, which is named after Lieutenant Bill Ricci, a professional firefighter from Clifton, Passaic County, who became ill after volunteering to serve at Ground Zero after the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. Through this act, members and retirees who volunteered for 9/11 rescue, recovery, or cleanup operations, like Lieutenant Ricci, are eligible to receive accidental disability retirement benefits.

During law school, Phil gained invaluable experience as a judicial intern for the Honorable Walter F. Timpone, Associate Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, and as a law clerk at a criminal defense firm handling municipal, state, and federal matters.

Phil is also a professional fire captain with the North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue, in Union City, NJ. Previously, he was an apprentice with Local 14 of the Plumbers Union. He also served as a rifleman in the United States Marine Corps, with First Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment.
