Co-chaired by registered pharmacist Satish Poondi, the Health Law and Pharmacy Law Practice Group at Trenk Isabel Siddiqi & Shahdanian offers a unique viewpoint and appreciation of the issues in pharmacy law and health law, providing our clients an advantage in navigating complex transactions.

We work closely with all sectors of the pharmacy industry, including independent pharmacies, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, retail chains, wholesalers, hospitals, and compounding pharmacies. We have represented more than 100 pharmacies in Medicaid matters and saved clients a total of nearly $18 million.

We also provide comprehensive regulatory, transactional, and litigation counsel to physicians, dentists, nurses, adult day care centers, long-term care facilities, wholesalers, hospitals, and an assortment of other healthcare professionals and entities.

From structuring practices, dealing with regulatory/licensing agencies, and defending providers from third-party and government audits to offering strategic and operational advice, our attorneys find solutions to our clients’ daily operational matters as well as the more complicated and cutting-edge issues that require the experience and sophisticated understanding we have of our clients’ needs.

Our group offers healthcare and pharmacy clients corporate, transactional, counseling, and litigation services that include:

  • Structuring and forming healthcare entities
  • Transactional services (e.g., buy-sell agreements, leases, consultant agreements)
  • Licensing (e.g., Boards of Medical Examiners, Pharmacy, Nursing, Department of Health)
  • Regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, DEA, state boards, Federal Anti-Kickback and Stark laws)
  • Designing and negotiating 340B agreements
  • Defending malpractice claims
  • Advising on sterile and nonsterile compounding activities
