Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring

Trenk Isabel’s Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring practice covers in and out-of-court restructurings, state and federal insolvency proceedings and bankruptcy litigation.

  • The attorneys at Trenk Isabel have extensive experience representing debtors, creditors’ and other statutory committees, secured lenders, landlords, tenants and contract parties, equity holders, creditors, vendors, trustees, receivers and asset purchasers.

  • When representing debtors, Trenk Isabel attorneys work with company management and advisors from the inception of the case through its closing.  Our attorneys have successfully resolved cases through restructuring, sales or other resolutions.  We work diligently to ensure a successful resolution of all cases in an expeditious and cost-effective manner.  Trenk Isabel attorneys have represented debtors in the following industries: construction and landscaping, food services, non-profit, transportation, and retail.

  • Similarly, when protecting creditors’ rights, Trenk Isabel attorneys work diligently for their clients to preserve value and expeditiously recover debt to maximize recoveries.  Our attorneys have experience representing creditors in connection with preference and fraudulent transfer claims, commercial loan workouts, foreclosure and debt-instrument litigation, tax sale foreclosures, judgment enforcement, collateral recovery and other insolvency-related matters.

  • With respect to bankruptcy litigation, our dedicated team has extensive experience in all aspects of bankruptcy litigation in federal courts, including contested plan confirmations, sale motions, relief from the automatic stay, substantive consolidation and other litigation involving affiliates, and prosecution and defense of claims against directors and officers.  Regardless of the matter, our team is well versed in all facets of litigation arising from restructuring matters.

  • Especially now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all parties must consider the day-to-day impacts on the business realities which will continue to affect everyone for many months, including, but not limited to:

  • The eviction backlog on landlords and tenants and the potential flood of evictions as courts begin to reopen;

  • Availability or lack thereof for credit and loan defaults; and

  • Slower generation of revenue due to limited capacities, social distancing and potential additional shutdowns.

  • Regardless of the nature, size or complexity of a case, the Trenk Isabel team works collaboratively to achieve our clients’ bankruptcy, restructuring and insolvency needs.
